Perform technical duties in a laboratory, field, or greenhouse environment evaluating samples, and preparing stock solutions to support research projects.
Alter, adapt, and develop new techniques or procedures to satisfy the needs of the research projects.
Plan, organize, and execute the details of a wide variety of projects related to using principles in biological science.

Minimum Qualifications Requirements: For the GS-7: You must have one-year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as 3 out of 4 of the following:

Successful completion of one full year of graduate education (18 semester hours or equivalent) if the coursework is directly related to the work of the position (e.g., forestry, ecology, plant pathology, entomology, biochemistry, microbiology, genetics, biology, chemistry, statistics, entomology, botany, agriculture). The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university.
OR
Combinations of graduate level education that is directly related to the position, and specialized experience. The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university.
For the GS-08: You must have one-year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as 3 out of 4 of the following:
Performing moderately complex and recurring techniques and making improvements in field and laboratory procedures related to biological science research, in field and/or laboratory settings, using a variety of specialized equipment (e.g., bio safety cabinet, thermos cyclers)
Keeping detailed records of experimental data and locating pertinent research literature for new procedures or techniques to use in the laboratory, field, or greenhouse.
Maintaining, calibrating, and modifying complex or specialized equipment (e.g., centrifudge, bio safety cabinet, thermos cyclers, micropipette) and automated systems used for test and evaluation procedures.
Tabulating, statistically analyzing, and summarizing data using personal computers and software packages.
OR
Successful completion two full years (36 semester hours or equivalent) of graduate level education or master's degree if the coursework is directly related to the work of the position (e.g., forestry, ecology, plant pathology, entomology, biochemistry, microbiology, genetics, biology, chemistry, statistics, entomology, botany, agriculture). Tabulating, statistically analyzing, and interpreting research data using personal/cluster computers and software packages and summarizing results for inclusion in manuscripts or reports.
OR
Two full years (36 semester/54 quarter hours) of successfully completed graduate level education or master's degree if the coursework is directly related to the work of the position (e.g., forestry, ecology, plant pathology, entomology, biochemistry, microbiology, genetics, biology, chemistry, statistics, entomology, botany, agriculture). The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university.
OR
