Install, maintenance, and/or repair of electrical systems within the facility.
Performs work with little or no supervision in installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical wiring systems and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment in industrial, institutional, office, and residential buildings.
Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, operate and test the emergency power distribution system consisting of seven generators, ranging from, 150kw to 450kw (not including the CHP) 25 transfer switches, 480-volt switchgear, 26-volt dc batteries and chargers, fuel pumps and day tanks and oil filled transformers, 480 volt switchgear, dry transformers and breaker panel boards, 208/120 volt transformers and breaker panels, main switchgear batteries 120v.
Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, operate, and test 4160-volt switches or consisting of transformer, and air vacuumed breakers.
Incumbent works from building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and electrical maintenance and repair manuals to plan and lay out the routing, placement, type, size, gauge, balance, load, continuity, and safe operation of electrical lines, circuits, systems, equipment, and controls.
Determines and places distribution panels, boxes, fittings, and connections and install wiring, couplings, conduit, relays, fixtures, transformers, and other electrical devices including electrical service entrances.
Work Schedule: Full-Time / 0800 - 1630 Monday - Friday Position Description Title/PD#: Electrician/PD08305A Physical Requirements: Electrical workers at this grade make repairs and installations from ladders, scaffolding, platforms, and other hard-to-reach places. This requires standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. The employee frequently lifts and carries tools, equipment, and parts that weigh up to 20 pounds and less often, up to 40 pounds. Occasionally, they lift or move with assistance moderately heavy objects weighing more than 40 pounds.
The physical demands for this position makes repairs and installations from ladders, scaffolding, platforms, requiring considerable standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and kneeling; works in tiring and uncomfortable positions; frequently lifts, carries, and sets up tools and equipment. Position must be able to lift and/or carry 50 pounds.

The incumbent requires that the incumbent must be proficient at repairing firewalls as the result of any penetrations made by the installation of any wires, conduits, mechanical piping, etc.
The incumbent must be able to drive a motor vehicle and heavy equipment.
