Summary

In this position, you will be participating in a field research project related to agronomy, soil health, water quality, or crop production; keeping detailed records of experimental data; and performing research techniques using a variety of specialized equipment in the field or lab.
Adapts, modifies, or develops new techniques and/or procedures to satisfy the needs of the research project.
Collects, prepares, evaluates, and verifies samples and supporting records; maintains records and locates and compiles data and other information from various sources.
Maintains inventory of chemicals, prepares solutions and reagents for use in the laboratory, field, or greenhouse, and safely disposes of waste material (both chemical and biological).
Evaluates data for outliers or discrepancies that indicate problems with instrumentation or methods.
Assists in one or more phases of the research process by performing a variety of technical duties, in a laboratory or field environment, common to the assigned area of work.
Organizes day-to-day research activities of team members for safety, efficiency, and accuracy.
Keeps detailed records of experimental data.
Tabulates, statistically analyzes, and summarizes laboratory data using personal computers and software packages.
Maintains, calibrates, and modifies equipment and automated systems used for test and evaluation procedures.
Performs routine and recurring techniques and studies using a variety of specialized equipment.
