Help
  • Facilitates commercialization opportunities by creating and maintaining LaRC Technology Portfolio.
  • Develops and negotiates Patent Licenses, and leads with establishment of partnership and software use agreements with industry for technology commercialization.
  • Participates and provides Technology Portfolio Manager input to the Innovation Assessment Panel.
  • Evaluates and recommends ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the program. Work with LaRC scientists, engineers, attorneys, and technical staff to support.
  • Participates in industry Outreach and Center Inreach activities.
  • Interfaces with peers, academia, and professional organizations regarding the transfer of NASA's patented technologies.
  • Provides senior-level consultation on complex technology transfer and licensing activities.

  • Current Federal employees must meet qualifications, time in grade, and three months after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of the announcement.
  • If the individual selected is currently at the GS-14 grade level, they will be detailed at their current grade and step. If the individual is a current GS-13 they will be temporarily promoted to the GS-14 level.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level:

  • Developing and negotiating patent licenses for partnerships with the goal of technology commercialization;
  • Providing analyses, interpretation, and evaluation for the management of a technology portfolio area from receipt of the license application through the execution; and
  • Utilizing business processes to maintain accurate records for a technology database portfolio.
