Help
  • Directs, coordinates, and supervises all components of the Department which includes planning, controlling and overseeing the activities of the Testing and Technical Services and Supply Chain Management Divisions.
  • Oversees the functions pertaining to the Agency's supply chain operation, storage, inventory retrieval and distribution, transportation and management of waste and surplus items.
  • Initiates studies and projects to evaluate potential risks in the supply chain, improve process, security and accountability, reduce cost and simplify workflow.
  • Provide support to the production operation emphasizing the use of new environment? friendly materials, technology or improved supply chain to improve processes, procedures, reduce waste, and effect sustainability solutions.
  • Keeps abreast of proposed, as well as current environmental, safety (OSHA), transportation legislation, and related Federal regulations and standards impacting the subject areas the incumbent provides oversight.
  • Exercises administrative control over the Department. Responsible for the performance of personnel management functions within the Department; including recommending policy, personnel, and resource needs.
  • Approves leave, performance plans and evaluations, selections, promotions and disciplinary actions.

Qualifications

To qualify for the Supervisory Quality Assurance Specialist, PG -1910-15, you must meet the following requirements:

To minimally qualify for the PG-15 level, you must possess one year of specialized experience at the PG-14 (or equivalent) level or higher. Specialized experience includes:
1. Experience in a QA Management Role within an Printing and Binding, and Inventory Management Department, managing or directing all components of a quality control program which includes providing technical assistance on improving the quality of printing and binding, managing or directing a staff, quality compliance, and supply chain for office materials and office items.
2. Participating in strategic and operational development plans, preparing special or recurring reports and studies pertaining to a Quality Assurance Program.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Background Investigation:

TopSecret:
To ensure the accomplishment of its mission, the GPO requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy; this position requires a Top Secret. To meet those standards, all selected applicants must undergo and successfully completed a background investigation for a Top Secret clearance. This review could include financial issues such as delinquency in the payment of debts, child support and/or tax obligations, as well as certain criminal offenses and illegal use or possession of drugs; this security process may take between 6 weeks to 12 months.

GPO will conduct an interim security clearance, pending the completion of the full investigative requirements for the final Top Secret clearance. The interim security clearance will be granted based on the favorable completion of preliminary checks that are accomplished as part of the security clearance process. The Agency may rescind the tentative offer if the candidate is unable to obtain an interim clearance.
