Summary

You will service as Deputy Director for the Information, Data and Analytics Services (IDAS) Service Line, with the Office of Chief Information Office, responsible for leading a diverse team responsible for leading and coordinating on enterprise data governance, infrastructure management, data analytics and visualization, enterprise search and the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP). You will support the Director of IDAS in the management and executions of these functions.

Help
  • Responsible for leading, supervising, coordinating, and managing systems engineers, administrators, and data professionals who performs enterprise data engineering, analytics, and infrastructure developmental operations.
  • Oversee, evaluate, and improve enterprise operating programs, policies, and procedures related to data engineering and infrastructure operations program activities to obtain the most efficient operations on projects and programs.
  • Communicate complex functional and technical requirements, issues, and value-added improvements to technical and non-technical personnel to facilitate timely responses for consideration into strategic decisions and planning.
  • Stay current with (and adhering to) best practices industry recommended and federally mandated IT data and systems development security policies.
  • In partnership with the IDAS Director and leadership team, advise IT experts on: budget planning and execution; application of ITIL principles; and quality of service while adapting new IT concepts, standards, methods, or practices.
  • Participate in hiring practices while ensuring the goals of equal employment opportunity/diversity continually support and accomplish affirmative action objectives by adhering to non-discriminatory employment practices.
  • Evaluate and monitor contract performance, coordinate with other IT services and organizations to ensure customer needs are addressed and provide input into the IDAS portfolio management process.
  • Integrate, collaborate, and lead program/project reviews to provide briefings to senior executives and internal/external partners at all levels. Briefings must be tailored to support the making of an informed decision which meets OCIO requirements.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:

  • Developing and leading cross-functional teams to meet data system requirements and formulate new concepts to operate optimally and achieve organization's key objectives;
  • Planning, delivering, and maintaining IT services using The Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework;
  • Providing technical guidance and evaluation of contractor performance and other government regulations for an IT portfolio of products to ensure customer requirements are met
AND
IF you are qualifying based on experience, you MUST also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
  1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
