Duties

Help

Located in the Financial Management Section of the Management and Specialty Training Center (MSTC) under the supervision of the Business Administrator.

Responsible for overall property control at the facility, and for the implementation, upkeep and overall operation of the Sentry Property Management System (SPMS) within the facility which consists of controlled capitalized and non-capitalized personal property.

Assists in planning, directing, supervising and coordinating programs related to acquisitions, release, transfer, repair and management of personal property within the facility.

Provides reports to management as well as concerned operating staff regarding inventory status and consumption.

Plans for expeditious unloading, identification and sorting of items received from incoming deliveries.

Qualifications

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements:

Education:

Master’s or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.

Education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.

OR

Experience:

You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled.


Some examples of this qualifying experience are:
Experience with performing procurement transactions at the BOP Level I warrant authority and overseeing the operation of the SENTRY property management system.

  • Experience meeting with contractors representatives to negotiate formal contracts and experience with physical property distribution.
  • Experience preparing terms for contract services to ensure conformance to Federal Acquisitions Regulations and experience in classifying the final disposition of agency property.
  • Experience executing formally advertised contracts for a wide variety of materials and experience maintaining a perpetual accountability of assets through their life cycle.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience:

 Have a combination of education and experience. This experience must have equipped you with the qualifications to successfully perform the duties of this position as described above.

Additional information

This position IS included in the bargaining unit.

The representative rate for this position is $71,705 per annum ($34.36 per hour) for applicants eligible for law enforcement officer (LEO) coverage; and $69,597 per annum ($33.35 per hour) for all other applicants.  NOTE: Salary ranges for all grade levels include both LEO and non-LEO salaries.  LEO salaries apply to current LEO employees.

Special Conditions of Employment Section:

Appointment is subject to satisfactory completion of a urinalysis, physical, and background investigation.  All applicants are subject to National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and credit checks.
