WHO MAY APPLY: All qualified permanent and indefinite Title 32 National Guard employees who are currently working at the Combined Support Maintenance Shop (CSMS) in Jefferson City, Missouri.

Duties

Help
  • Plans weekly or monthly work schedules and sequence of operations.
  • Establishes deadlines and priorities based on established general schedules, methods and policies.
  • Determines skills, materials and equipment required to do the work.
  • Participates in the initial planning of current and future work schedules and development of budget requests.
  • Provides workload data, estimates, information on staffing needs, and recommendations of the scheduling of projected work.
  • Instructs subordinates on new procedures or methods and provides assistance on difficult or new problem areas.
  • Reviews work in progress or on completion.
  • Notes and investigates work related problems and independently implements corrective actions which could be taken without affecting work operations controlled by other supervisors.
  • Assures that equipment and materiel was available when needed.
  • Recommends and participates in the selection of personnel to fill vacancies.
  • Schedules and approves leave of subordinates.
  • Plans and establishes overall leave schedules.
  • Adjusts informal complaints through discussions with employees and union representatives.
  • Initiates proposals for disciplinary action where needed.
  • Maintains production reports and records.
  • Performs the nonsupervisory work of the function as needed.
  • Implements regulatory safety requirements and ensures that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and followed pertinent safety precautions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • If selected individual is in a Permanent status (Tenure 1 or 2) with the Missouri Army National Guard, that individual will retain their Permanent status.
  • If selected individual is in an Indefinite status (Tenure 3) with the Missouri Army National Guard, that individual will retain their Indefinite status.
  • Management has the right to convert this position to permanent status without re-advertising.
  • Indefinite employment can be terminated with a 30 day notice.

  • This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Missouri National Guard prior to the effective date of placement.

  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Failure to complete management prescribed courses for full-time support personnel within the first year of employment or assignment, may be cause for reassignment or termination.
  • Pre-placement or baseline physical are required for newly hired or appointed Wage Grade personnel who may be potentially exposed to health hazards in the work environment.
  • In accordance with the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968, an individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

Qualifications

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Selected candidate will be required to be in a compatible military assignment prior to effective date of placement. Selected candidate must be MOS qualified within 12 months from date of appointment.

Maximum Military Grade - CW4 (W-4)

Minimum Military Grade - WO1 (W-1)

Warrant Officer - Branch 91, 92 or 94; MOS 913A

Supervisor must verify that selected individual occupies a compatible military position. Title 32 National Guard employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor or wage leader (grade inversion).

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience or training which demonstrates the ability to provide technical advice and assistance on difficult work operations; plan, schedule and direct work operations; evaluate work of subordinates; and maintain reports and records.

WS-09SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 36 months of specialized experience planning and organizing work assignments for armament repair function; experience reviewing work requirements and establishing priorities to meet deadlines; experience with various lines of work performed by armament repair function and other section involved; experience dealing with other people and gaining cooperation in achieving common goals; and experience involving devising new work methods and procedures or improvements in existing work practices.


LAUTENBERG AGREEMENT: Any person who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence cannot lawfully possess a firearm or ammunition (Title 18, U.S.C., Section 922(g) (91)). Candidates who have been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence are not qualified for this position. Candidates under consideration will be required to certify whether they have ever been convicted of such an offense. False or fraudulent information provided by candidates is criminally punishable by fine or imprisonment (Title 18, U.S.C., Section 1001).

Education

This job does not have a qualification requirement that allows substitution of education for specialized experience.
