Duties

Help
  • Identifies common pests that pose a threat to the health and vigor of exterior vegetation and/or other environments for the affected activity.
  • Sets traps, hand baits or applies general use dusts, sprays, or fogs to control common pests in varying environments.
  • Operates hand or tractor pulled sprayer to apply limited toxicity pesticides, herbicide, rodenticide, or fungicide based upon the treatment schedule, procedures and methods prescribed by a higher graded leader or supervisor.
  • Weighs, measures, and mixes pesticide emulsions and baits in accordance with directions and safety procedures.
  • Refers to product label instructions, handbooks and instructional guides to ensure adherence to legal, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Observes weather conditions (e.g. excessive heat, wind, rain, etc?) to minimize workers, patrons and/or wildlife?s exposure to harmful fumes.

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and keep current a valid driver?s license and installation and/or DoD requirement for the type of vehicle being operated.
  • This position is a Drug Test Designated position. Incumbent may be subject to pre-employment drug testing and random urinalysis upon employment.
  • Incumbent must possess or acquire certification in pest control application in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. (Primarily 40 CFR Part 171-Certification of Pesticide Applicators, AR 420-76 and DoD 4150.7M)
  • Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Incumbent must meet the physical requirements for the position, and is therefore subject to a pre-employment physical.
