This position is located at the G6 in Phoenix, Arizona. The purpose is to ensure compliance for information assurance throughout the state.

  • Newly hired employees and employees of the Arizona National Guard are required to be fully vaccinated by 22 November 2021 or before appointment or onboarding with the agency, if after 22 November, per Executive Order 14043.
  • Applicant must possess or able to obtain a secret security clearance within one year of appointment.
  • May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours.
  • THIS POSITION CONDUCTS INFORMATION ASSURANCE FUNCTIONS. THE INCUMBENT SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE CERTIFICATION (cont. 1 of 2)
  • (2 of 2) PROGRAM AND WILL BE REQUIRED TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN CERTIFICATION. CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS ARE OUTLINED IN DOD INSTRUCTION 8570.01-M
  • Must hold a current DoD 8570 certification at IAMI.
  • Incumbent is eligible for telework at the discretion of hiring manager.
  • Applicant must have completed at least one of the following courses: CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security-CE, CND, and/or SSCP.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: Must have at least 36 months IT experience, education, or training that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization. IT experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls. IT experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment. IT experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion.

1. Ability to receive and review written guidance from a variety of Department of Defense (DoD), federal and state investigative and enforcement agencies and interprets for impact in the state.

2. Knowledge to direct actions required to prevent and/or correct information assurance deficiencies and violations.

3. Skill to assure compliance with security policy for external connections to the state network and assures compliance with the national and state policies.

4. Knowledge to evaluate the effectiveness of systems, devices, procedures, and methods used to safeguard information in computer accessible media and ensures correction of all state deficiencies on systems containing applicable security technologies.

5. Skill to review/test/update continuity of operations plans (COOPS) and Security SOP's and actively participates in accreditation/reaccredidation processes.
