Duties

Help

This position is located at Medical Detachment in Phoenix, Arizona. The purpose of the work is to plan, schedule, execute, manage and administer the ARNG Industrial Hygiene Program for a state, territory, or district to maintain and promote the health of military and technician personnel. Coordinates with the National Guard Bureau (NGB) Regional Industrial Hygienist (IH) who works for the NGB Office of the Chief Surgeon.

  • Newly hired employees and employees of the Arizona National Guard are required to be fully vaccinated by 22 November 2021 or before appointment or onboarding with the agency, if after 22 November, per Executive Order 14043.
  • Must possess a secret security clearance within one year of appointment.
  • Telework eligible but is subject to hiring manager's policy.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: Must have at least 24 months experience, education, or training which provided a working knowledge of missions, organizations, programs and requirements of health care delivery systems. Experience developing and implementing various policies and procedures used in the state medical programs. Experience involving various administrative areas such as budget, personnel and public relations within a medical activity.

Education

You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.

1. Skill to plan, schedule, execute, manage and administer the State/territory/or district ARNG Industrial Hygiene Program.

2. Ability to perform special surveys of facilities and shops when new equipment is installed or work procedures change.

3. Ability to interpret Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs) for employees, shop supervisors, and OHN.

4. Knowledge to assist the OHN with the management of the state Army National Guard (ARNG) Respiratory Protection Program.

5. Ability to conducts noise surveys before commencement of new operations or work processes.
