Summary
The Office of Information Technology (OIT) which supports the Office of Environmental Science Cyberinfrastructure (OESC) is seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong background in Information Security support and Cybersecurity efforts in cloud computer security design and architecture, IT internal audit, investigation function and IT management policy and standards.
Serve as adviser, planner and project coordinator for the Infrastructure Manager and Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) for IT security architecture.
Work with the organization's program management to define policy and standards for application data security.
Develop security authorization packages.
Ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of systems, networks and data.
Develop, evaluate and implement security program objectives for an organization.
Make recommendations for and decisions concerning enforcement of operation policies, procedures and criteria for interfacing with program systems resources.
Investigate security incidents and make decisions on best plan of action during an IT emergency or incident.
Provide expert advice and guidance to the software and database engineers on building secure Web enabled applications that comply with an organization's policies on information security systems.
Manage technical projects of varying size, focus and complexity from inception to closure.
U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

TO QUALIFY AT THE GS-13: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience obtained in either the private or public sector, and/or completion of specific, intensive training that demonstrates that I possess each of the following four competencies:

You must demonstrate 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector typically gained in the IT field or through performing IT related tasks such as: developing, implementing or evaluating IT security programs of an organization; developing security authorization packages; reviewing and evaluating security incident response policies, and identifying where there is a need for changes based on new security technologies or threats; providing advice and instructions to staff on IT security issues; and/or working with other IT Specialists to build secure web enabled applications.
