Duties

Help

The incumbent is responsible for a broad range of activities related to development, monitoring, and oversight of the technical and programmatic aspects of contracts for clinical research support and management services. in furtherance of these requirements, the incumbent performs task and assignments that typically include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following:

  • Coordinate and implement large-scale projects that are typically broad in scope and complex and undefined in nature;
  • Coordinate with scientific programs to support an safeguard the Division's board range of domestic and international and network and non-network clinical studies while ensuring efficient and equitable distribution of resources support;
  • Develop and maintain a system for internal controls for project activities including evaluation of task requests for cost, schedule, and quality requirements;
  • Work cooperative with contracts officers to provide oversight of and guidance to contractors to deliver quality service according to government milestones;
  • Provide comprehensive analysis of methods to be used, resources required, interagency coordination matters, and milestones;
  • Extensive expert professional experience and knowledge in the management and conduct of clinical trials and the management of contracts for provision of clinical trial support and oversight services;
  • Independently plan, schedule, and carry out the work, and is delegated and exercise broad discretion and judgement in determining the scope of the work.

Qualifications

You qualify for a Health Scientist at the GS-13 level, if you meet the following qualification requirements:

Education Requirement:
You must possess a Bachelor's degree, or graduate/higher level degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of this position. (This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained).

AND
Additional Experience:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal Government obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: developing, monitoring, and overseeing projects for clinical research support and management; providing technical surveillance and administration of contract research support services; coordinating clinical research programs and support services with other staff and organizations; and providing guidance and recommendations for the delivery of infrastructure support services and contracts.
