Duties

Help

Provide patent drawing services specifically to support patent attorneys in an in-house setting. Produce drawings in compliance with Patent Office rules. Requires close attention to detail and instruction from attorneys to avoid unnecessary office action rejections, objections, and notifications. Work quickly and accurately so staff can obtain patent figures no matter how complex the patent (utility or design) drawings are. Stay updated on the latest Patent Office rules and guidelines regarding drawings and software and technologies to cater to requested drawing formats.

Qualifications

Basic requirements: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level (ZA-II) in the federal service.Specialized experience is defined as experience producing visual interpretations for patents and webpages.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done. We will credit all qualifying volunteer experience in your application.

The qualification requirements in this vacancy announcement are based on the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook.
