Duties

Help
  • Preparing and serving food items which include, but are not limited to, hot dogs, nachos, chips, candy, lemonade drinks, etc.
  • Collecting sales slips, total sales on cash register, accepting payment from patrons and making change as necessary. Maintains related cash records.
  • Keeping work area clean and orderly.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Must be able to work varying and/or rotating shifts to include nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Medical examination is required; subjected to lifting items weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted, frequent standing, stooping, bending, walking, and reaching.
  • Must meet the state/local age requirements (18 years old) at the time of appointment if serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Satisfactorily complete a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
  • The dual compensation guidelines DO NOT apply to this position. All GS and NAF employees whether fulltime or part time are eligible to apply for this position.

Qualifications

  1. Be able to lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds.
  2. Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory
Skills and Knowledge: Able to work alone. Know the proper use of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions. Know simple food handling techniques. Able to work safely. Able to serve uniform individual portions and avoid distractions when several guests ask for different items at the same time. Able to use simple arithmetic.

Note: Candidates with Special Qualifying Skills and Experience may be brought in higher than the Step 1 rate of pay, determined by the Hiring Manager.
