Summary
This position is located within the Federal Election Commission (FEC), Reports Analysis Division, Reports Processing Branch. The incumbent performs a variety of coding duties which include understanding processes for Pass I and Pass III entry which includes recognizing and distinguishing between the different types of candidates, committees, other filing entities and reporting forms, and their respective reporting requirements.
This announcement is open to current/former federal employees and individuals eligible under one or more of the following: veterans eligible for VEOA, disabled veterans receiving 30% or more disability compensation from the VA, military spouses under E.O. 13473, certain former overseas employees, present/former Peace Corps volunteers/employees or VISTA members; present and former Foreign Service officers and employees and Schedule A.
Review and code disclosure documents in preparation for data entry indexing in accordance with division and Commission procedures, and the requirements of the Federal Election Campaign Act and Commission regulations.
Identify and code pertinent itemized financial data contained in the disclosure documents utilizing the various Data Inquiry programs, indices, and numerous data entry transaction codes.
Review the database to ensure accuracy in coding and entry.
Research Commission indices through comparison and analysis of the disclosure documents and keyed data, identify irregularities in reporting and errors in coding or entry.
The full performance level of this position is GS-0303-07. This position is developmental in nature. Upon meeting regulatory and performance requirements, the incumbent may be promoted non-competitively to the target level of GS-07. Appropriate duties and responsibilities in keeping with this grade level will be assigned.
You must be able to pass a background investigation.

You may be required to serve a 2 year probationary period.
Direct Deposit of Pay is required.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
GS-06 level:
Have one full year of specialized experience performing office and program support duties comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing the following in a developmental capacity: (1) preparing reports for scanning, photocopying, or adding digital pages; (2) preparing documents for data entry and coding; (3) conducting research to locate missing documents or verifying/correcting data; (4) recognizing different types of filing entities and their respective reporting requirements.
GS-07 level:
Have one full year of specialized experience performing office and program support duties comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing the following: (1) ensuring accuracy in coding and entry; (2) resolving and identifying irregularities in reporting and coding; (3) performing basic arithmetic computations and/or generating cross-reference documents; (4) reviewing and coding disclosure documents in preparation for data entry indexing in accordance with agency procedures.

Technology Application - Uses computers and computer applications to analyze and communicate information in the appropriate format; e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and utilize various data inquiry programs, indices, and numerous data entry transactions codes.
