Summary

As an Agency expert in an assigned area, develops workplans, detailed systems analysis and design of new or existing major systems or subsystems and oversees software development,
testing and implementation activities for SSA?s programmatic systems.
Plans, sets priorities and develops systems analysis techniques and analytical approaches in accordance with Target Architectures.
Develops systems performance measurement criteria in order to assess systems/software through the design and development life cycle stages and in maintenance and software improvement activities.
Provides authoritative advice to executive level managers within the Agency about the area of expertise.
Conducts continuing review of computer technology developments applicable to system design and prepares long range forecasts of developments relevant to SSA applications. Provides technical direction and guidance to other IT Specialists.

In addition, to qualify for this GS-13 level position, applicants must possess and demonstrate 52 weeks of specialized experience at, or equivalent to, the GS-12 level in the Federal government that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such IT-related experience must include developing and debugging scalable applications using one or more of the following technologies: Angular, Node.js, React, COBOL, DB2, JCL, Java, SpringBoot or WebFOCUS. Experience must also include implementing software utilizing one or more software development lifecycle methodologies, such as Waterfall, Agile, or Rapid development.
