As a Policy Assistant, GS, 0301, 9/11 your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting CTO Leadership Team in daily tasks, including calendar management and travel coordination
  • Arranging meetings with stakeholders and preparing meeting materials
  • Managing frequent and routine correspondence
  • Assisting CTO team members with tracking priorities, tasks, and requests
  • Performing technical policy research
  • Drafting policy memoranda on science and technology policy topics
  • Other tasks as assigned

  • This is a Non-Reimbursable Detail Opportunity for six months (180 days)
  • If selected your management and branch must concur with the non-reimbursable detail. A MOU will be signed between your branch and the agency.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must meet the qualification requirements outlined below to be considered minimally qualified for this position. The qualification requirements are in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standards. ALL QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE MET BY THE CLOSING DATE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT.


GRADE REQUIREMENT: This is NOT a promotion but a Detail assignment. Applicant MUST currently be at the grade level advertised.

AND

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the next lower grade or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Additional requirements include the ability to:1) Grasp and explain complex issues 2) Prioritize between multiple tasks and deadlines 3) Communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively through verbal and written means 4) Foster a diverse and inclusive work environment 5) Maintain productivity in collaborative and independent working environments 6) Strong research, writing and editing skills 7) Timeliness and attention to detail and 8) Familiarity with Microsoft Suite for document management.

For the GS-09 or GS-11: Experience to perform duties at the GS-09 and GS-11 levels include writing policy documents, preparing materials for senior leadership and researching related information as it pertains to: Artificial Intelligence, Broadband and Spectrum, Digital Assets and Increasing Technologists in Government.
