The following are the duties of this position at the GS-14. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

Plans and manages major and continuing agency program segments which are characterized by such features as:

  • Regulatory or oversight coverage which extends to most or all government agencies or private sector entities involved in the assignment area.
  • The need to define and institute new methods and strategies to meet key agency requirements and program objectives.
  • Responsibility for direction and integration of the contributions of senior business and industry professionals both within and outside the employing organization.
  • Action as bureau authority and spokesperson to other government agencies, to top business and industry officials and to significant congressional staff and committees.
  • Potential to substantially influence agency policy, or effectiveness in one or more critical and high priority program areas.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience for the GS-13 level is defined as one year of experience at the GS-12 level in the Federal service, or equivalent, that is directly related to the position, and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes ALL of the following:

  • Working within a small business and/or a large integrator performing services to support a customer; AND
  • Working within a business as a facilitator, planner, business development professional or engagement manager focused on developing exercises to train a diverse group of stakeholders on best practices or sell to a customer; AND
  • Experience analyzing complex data sets in support of a Federal entity, or equivalent, to improve program performance and educate external stakeholders. Experience should include developing educational materials, as well; AND
  • Experience performing research and developing policy recommendations in writing based on that research; AND
  • Working with a team to implement strategies that increase small business participation across the enterprise


Time in Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.
