Help

The Senior Advisor for Cyberinfrastructure will provide strategic advice to the directorate and lead special projects on behalf of the Office of Advanced Cyberinfrastructure, as the Office examines its strategy in light of the emerging science needs and technology landscapes, and the Director’s and Administration’s priorities.

The Senior Advisor for Cyberinfrastructure will foster increased cohesion and alignment of strategic investments across all OAC programs as well as across programs and investments in other Directorates and Offices at the Foundation, including cyberinfrastructure-rich environments such as scientific facilities and instruments. The incumbent will proactively engage with Divisions in CISE, other Directorates in NSF, the Advisory Committee for Advanced Cyberinfrastructure, and other federal agencies and international entities.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in a science or engineering discipline, plus after award of the Ph.D., six or more years of successful research, research administration, and/or managerial experience pertinent to the position.


Appointment to this position will be made under the Excepted Authority of the NSF Act. Candidates who do not have civil service status or reinstatement eligibility will not obtain civil service status if selected. Candidates currently in the competitive service will be required to waive competitive civil service rights if selected. Usual civil service benefits (retirement, health benefits, and life insurance) are applicable.
You will need to successfully complete a background security investigation before you can be appointed to this position.
