About the Position:
The Installation Management Command Directorate-Training is responsible for the Mission Command and leadership of 16 US Army Garrison commands and Support Activities that deliver and integrate Base Support services on Army Installations to enable Army readiness. IMCOM-TRAINING is aligned with TRADOC, the U.S. Military Academy, and the U.S. Army War College and is physically located at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, thereby, better enabling close collaboration with HQ TRADOC.

Duties

Help
  • Serve as an Installation Management Command advisor and expert consultant for the IMCOM Directorate (ID) on the housing management program (both family and unaccompanied personnel).
  • Review the operational concepts, policies, and practices of the separate installations/post.
  • Provide advisory services to management and technical personnel and public and private institutions regarding use of housing programs.
  • Recommend changes in DA housing programs, policies, regulations, and procedures based on knowledge of program requirements and problems encountered at the operating level.
  • Ensure that ID housing programs are designed to meet the needs of the serviced members, their dependents and other users such as dignitaries, qualified government employees and guidance is provided to housing management offices to implement programs.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Developing policies for aspects of housing programs; 2) Performing periodic and/or scheduled surveys, audits, reviews, studies, and inspections to determine family housing conditions or requirements 3) Analyzing data for a variety of reports pertaining to housing. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
