Summary

This position is located within the Community Recreation Department for Morale, Welfare & Recreation on Naval Air Station Jacksonville. The Bingo Manager is responsible for a staff of 12 employees, and the incumbent reports to the Community Recreation Director. The primary purpose of this position is to oversee the responsibility for the onsite management of a large bingo program with yearly revenues in excess of 4.2 million.

Duties

Help

-Responsible for the operation and control of the Bingo operation in accordance with established policies, procedures and guidelines.

-Prepares bingo operation budgets.

-Custodian of all records and property in possession.

-Determination of equipment and facility maintenance requirements and accomplishments of required maintenance, replacements, redecoration, expansion and improvements.

-Planning and scheduling daily games and programs, special activities and events.

-Procurement of required merchandise, goods and services including proper storage to prevent pilferage.

-Ensures state of the art bingo internal controls are in place and maintained.

-Continually review operation making appropriate recommendations to management for improvements.

-Keep facility clean and well maintained.

-Incumbent must ensure that all actions (i.e., selections for promotion, awards, reassignments, training, etc.) are free from discrimination based on race, color, sex, age, religion, national origin, or and other non-merit factors.

-Responsibility for the receipt safekeeping and rendering courteous and efficient patron services.

-Supervision of assigned personnel. Establishes work schedules, assigns and distributes work, counsels employees, and conducts employee training.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate possess the following:

-Knowledge of the fundamental principles, methodology, and techniques involved in the operational management of the Bingo program and efficient utilization of existing facilities and equipment.

-Knowledge of and skill in performing regular and periodic reviews authorized practices concerning a variety of assigned social and recreational activities. Ability to evaluate the adequacy of social and recreational activities and practices and prepares reports and recommendations concerning the improvement or correction of deficiencies.

-Incumbent must have a pleasing personality, poise, the ability to tactfully and adroitly meet, greet and serve all types of customers and the ability of resolving embarrassing/upsetting situations.

Education

This position does not have a positive education requirement.
