Duties

Help

1. Cloud Engineering: Exercises mastery, and skill in the application of various Cloud computing concepts and techniques, such as deployment models, clustering, network and application load balancing, serverless Cloud designs, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) deployment methodologies, container deployment and management, etc.; Cloud supporting tools and services (e.g., Docker, Jenkins, Ansible, scripting and programming languages, etc.); and commonly used native Cloud services, concepts, and technologies offered by specific Cloud service providers to provide senior technical expert, providing leadership to team members as well as CB customers onboarding to and operating in the Cloud.

2. Cloud Security: Applies knowledge of the methods and techniques for designing, deploying, and managing Cloud native security and monitoring tools and services; Cloud security architecture and design, and with concepts such as ZTA (Zero Trust Architecture, network segmentation, security within a hybrid Cloud deployment model, etc.); and application security design and concepts to ensure Cloud implementations are carried out, operated, and maintained securely.

3. Cloud DevOps/Automation/Systems Reliability Engineering (SRE): Applies knowledge of the methods and techniques of designing, deploying, and managing secure enterprise DevOps and automation processes that includes infrastructure, applications, and a combination of Cloud native and on-prem datacenter technologies; on-premise and Cloud native DevOps and automation tools and services (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet, Kubernetes, Github, etc.); and application modernization using DevOps and automation tools, services, and capabilities, leveraging both on-premise and Cloud native technologies and solutions to ensure the successful implementation and operation of critical Cloud DevOps, automation, and systems reliability and engineering (SRE) capabilities.

4. Cloud Technical Customer Engagement: Applies knowledge of commonly used native Cloud services, concepts, and technologies related to specific Cloud service providers skill working with both technical and non-technical audiences and customers and translating business and non-functional requirements to actionable technical requirements necessary for designing and engineering technical solutions; mastery and skill in creating, writing, and maintaining technical documentation, diagrams, and designs; and a detail-focused, customer service orientation to provide critical technical engagement services to CB Cloud customers.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: For the GS-14 you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 in the Federal service.

Specialized experience for this position includes overseeing and leading the Enterprise delivery of AWS cloud native services and technologies; overseeing and leading the Enterprise delivery of Terraform Infrastructure as Code solutions; working as a member of cross functional teams; and creating, writing, and maintaining technical documentation, diagrams, and designs.

In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the following four competencies:

1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.

2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.

3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.

4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
