About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain halfway between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, Alabama just off interstate 20. The depot is the largest Employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees.

Duties

Help
  • Provide the supervisor with reports summarizing results of analysis in the form of studies or verbal presentations.
  • Perform duties such as develop, write and implement operating procedures and reviews current procedures for compliance, deviations or needed revisions and takes applicable action.
  • Serve as the focal point for monitoring workload performance and reporting accomplishments, backlogs, resource requirement, etc. to the supervisor.
  • Perform investigative research of inventory discrepancies provided by the Cycle Count Leader.
  • May be tasked with monitoring an existing administrative program and/or business process to review its effectiveness and to develop recommendations to specific problems in order to improve efficiency/effectiveness.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes participating in planning and determining current and future supply requirements to meet customer needs for items of low and medium monetary value. Review applicable automated supply system(s) and identifies and recommends modifications for improvement. Accumulates, analyzes, and reports data associated with the compliance and control integrity function of maintenance customer owner inventory accounts associated with installation maintenance of major end items, subassemblies, small arms, tools and equipment and electronics. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: [insert applicable field(s) of study].

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

  • This position is a TERM position.
  • It is temporary and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years.
  • This position may be converted to permanent career or career-conditional appointment without further competition as long as all requirements are met and a conversion opportunity exists.
To be eligible for conversion, employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a TERM appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have a current performance rating under such TERM appointment of at least fully successful or equivalent
