Summary

As a Supervisory Office Chief in the Business Office of Johnson Space Center (JSC) Office of the Chief Information Office (OCIO), you will be responsible for the budget, policies, risks process, contract management, configuration management, action tracking, process development, and communication. You will lead a team of skilled professionals performing these duties at JSC and coordinating with NASA OCIO's Enterprise Business Management Office (EBMO) representing JSC's IT business interest.

Duties

Help
  • Manages the Business Office under Johnson Space Center (JSC) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), which includes Information Technology (IT) budget and reporting, risk, policy, contract management, compliance, and service management.
  • Promotes and leads an inclusive work environment in which employees are valued/respected for individual and cultural differences and their talents are fully utilized.
  • Integrates with missions and programs to ensure Agency and Center initiatives and projects are being successfully implemented and executed.
  • Advances the mission technology function of the JSC OCIO by focusing on modernization and innovative ways to serve the mission with speed, security, and resiliency.
  • Works with the Center CIO to deploy the mission technology operating model for Johnson Space Center's current and future missions and programs.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:

  • Leading or managing teams or projects performing technical and administrative functions relating to cyclic budget formulation and execution processes and Information Technology (IT) risk identification, escalation, and mitigation;
  • Presenting organizational information through written and oral communication to senior leadership and stakeholders to inform, persuade, or represent an organizational IT goal, metrics, or policy; and
  • Procuring or implementing IT solutions and developing, integrating, and communicating operational changes and/or plans associated with these solutions.
AND
IF you are qualifying based on experience, you MUST also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
  1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
