Duties

Help

This position is with the Office of Inspector General, Office of Audits, Inspections, and Evaluations. As a Supervisory Management and Program Analyst you will be responsible to the Inspector General for the development, direction, and implementation of a broad, comprehensive review program covering: (1) internal audits, inspections and evaluations of all DOI and Insular Area Governments' programs and activities in terms of (a) economy, efficiency, effectiveness and equity; (b) internal controls, financial reporting and compliance with laws and regulations; and (c) program results.

Major duties include:

  • Assists the AIGAIE and the Deputy Assistant Inspector Generals within the Office of Audits, Inspections, and Evaluations in achieving the mission and strategic goals of the organization in areas associated with coordinating, planning, performing, reporting on audits, inspections, evaluations, reviews, and special projects (assignments).
  • Provides supervision, direction, and general oversight to all phases of the technical and administrative operation of the office staff, which includes auditors, evaluators, and administrative staff.
  • Oversees all matters related to assignments within the appointed office/division.
  • Oversees the fieldwork phase of assignments.
  • Ensures that assignment reports contain logical and clearly supported conclusions and recommendations that drive positive change and promote accountability.

  • Time-in-grade requirement - Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions contained in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F.

Minimum Qualifications GS-15:

You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the federal service performing all of the following:

1. Planning and performing audits, inspections, and evaluations for an agency's program and activities;
2. Directing a comprehensive program providing technical and administrative assistance involving complex interrelationships of programs, operations, and policies;
3. Advising others in performing their work, such as overseeing assignments performed by subordinate employees;
4. Briefing senior officials on achieving the mission and/or strategic program goals; AND
5. Conducting oversight of planning, fieldwork, and reporting of operational assignments.

Education

There is no education substitution for the GS-12 and above.
