Duties

This position offers a unique opportunity for diverse assignments and challenging projects which impact the entire organization.
If selected for this position, you will:
  • Perform a variety of duties on an array of privacy issues related to compliance including Privacy Threshold Analyses, Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA), System of Records Notices (SORN), Privacy Act Statements, and Privacy Act Notice of Proposed Rulemakings (NPRM) and Final Rules.
  • Serve as a subject-matter privacy expert providing guidance, technical assistance, analysis, evaluation, and interpretation of privacy mandates.
  • Develop and implement activities that promote the DOI OIG Privacy Program in providing information and guidance to stakeholders concerning the protection of personal information.
  • Work collaboratively with OIG employees, programs and staff offices', information system security officers, program and system owners; as well as OIG senior leadership, external stakeholders, and members of the public to balance DOI OIG operational needs with appropriate privacy safeguards and data protections.
  • Lead privacy incident management and response efforts.

  • Successful completion of a background investigation.
  • Must NOT have any pending/outstanding disciplinary actions.
  • Must have achieved a minimum of "meet expectations/proficiency" on latest performance appraisal/evaluation.

There is no qualification requirement for this position; however, the best candidates will have experience handling Privacy Act issues.
