Duties

Help

This position is located in the Office of the Chief of Staff, Office of Strategic Analysis and Results (OSAR) Strategic Project and Initiatives Directorate (SPI). SPI oversees the OIG's strategic and annual plans; leads the development of top management challenges for the EPA and the CSB; leads outreach to the agency; develops oversight and performance reports; and initiates projects to identify best OIG practices.

Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will perform the following duties:

  • Contributes to OIG-wide strategic planning, oversight, and performance evaluation;
  • Plans and conducts reviews of functions, responsibilities, and goals by collecting and analyzing data to respond to OIG and Agency requirements;
  • Plans and participates in policy review, development and processes;
  • Participates in meetings with management officials to present findings, explain the significance of conclusions, justify recommendations and answer questions on projects; and
  • Provides general support and assistance to other staff involved in the planning and implementation of a variety of projects as assigned.

This is a Public Trust Position. Employment in this position requires a background investigation. Qualifications

Grade Requirements: Applicant must apply at their current grade level. Detail cannot result in a promotion.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 

The applicant must currently hold a GS-13 grade level or comparable pay band in the Federal Service. In order to apply at the GS-13 grade level applicant must meet the criteria listed below:

1) Demonstrate strong writing and analytical skills;

2) Conduct reviews and report on complex audit and evaluations of programs, systems, and operations in accordance with applicable;

3) Formulates, develops and/or implements OIG policies and procedures;

4) Proficient with internal control, enterprise risk management, and management assessment; and

5) Understanding of strategic and annual planning.
