Duties

This position is located within the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP), Office of Federal Agency Programs.

If applying to a specific duty station (Washington, DC), you may be allowed to telework a set number of day(s) per pay period, with supervisory approval.

At the full performance level (GG-13) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Gathering, analyzing and managing data regarding the ACHP's participation in and oversight of Section 106 reviews; using this data to identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, timeliness, and effectiveness of these reviews; and identifying additional data needs to support agency operations related to Section 106 reviews;
2. Improving the ACHP's use of electronic communication and digital information to enhance the timeliness and efficiency of historic preservation reviews of undertakings pursuant to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act;
3. Coordinating with external partners to improve the use of digital tools in fulfilling the requirements in the Section 106 regulations;
4. Recommending changes to improve the efficiency and functionality of ACHPConnect or other digital tools to support case management; and
5. Carrying out tailored outreach and assistance to stakeholders regarding the use of digital tools in the implementation of the Section 106 regulations and other requirements of the NHPA.

The ACHP has determined that the duties of this position are telework eligible.

Salary Information
GG-13 salary ( $106,823 - $138,868) per annum. First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
To qualify for this position you must meet the (1) Specialized Experience for the series to which you are applying.

(1) Specialized Experience
To qualify for the GG-13, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GG/GS-12 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1) managing, analyzing and creating project tracking databases involving cultural resources data; 2) developing and coordinating information systems; 3) recommending changes to digital tools to improve operations; and 4) educating stakeholders on the use of digital tools. (Must meet all)

Education


Education: There is no specific education requirement for this position. However, the ACHP has indicated that a working knowledge of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act is highly desirable.


Foreign Education: Education completed in colleges or universities outside the United States may be used to meet the specific educational requirements as stated above. You must provide acceptable documentation that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States. A preliminary background check must be completed before a new employee can begin work with the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP). The preliminary background check consists of a search of Office of Personnel Management and Department of Defense background investigation files and an FBI National Criminal History Fingerprint Check; it may take up to 3 weeks to complete. If selected for this position, you will be extended a tentative offer of employment pending a satisfactory background check. Current Federal employees or individuals with an existing completed background investigation may not be required to undergo another background check; these will be handled on a case-by-case basis in coordination with the Bureau security office.
