As a Safety & Occupational Health Manager, you will be managing a comprehensive and technical environmental program that meets both Federal goals and those of the United States Mint.
Summary
This position is located at US Mint,West Point Mint- MANUFACTURING DEPT/Plant Mgr NY/ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY AND HEALTH DIV. As a Safety & Occupational Health Manager, you will be managing a comprehensive and technical environmental program that meets both Federal goals and those of the United States Mint.
All candidates who are:Current or former federal employees qualifying as Status Candidates, Federal employees currently serving on a VRA, VEOA eligibles, CTAP/ICTAP eligibles, eligible for special hiring authorities (e.g., the Schedule A appointment for persons with disabilities, or covered by an Interchange Agreement), OR Land Management employees eligible under Public Law 114-47.
As a Safety & Occupational Health Manager, you will:
Develop and implement applicable directives, programs, policies, regulatory guidelines and Executive Orders.
Serve as principal advisor to Mint management and provide expert advice and technical assistance to ensure the facility meets numerous regulatory requirements.
Serve as the point of contact and is the responsible party when an outside regulatory agency comes into the facility to conduct investigations and audits and is responsible for reviewing and analyzing the reports and inspection citations, recommending the proper abatement and ensuring the findings are corrected.
Conduct environmental investigations and surveys as needed to ensure environmental conditions are in compliance with applicable environmental standards, laws, rules and regulations of all regulatory agencies, and initiates remedial and/or corrective action or modifications.
Ensure environmental training requirements are met.
All employees must wear face masks while on MINT property when required by CDC and Federal guidelines.
To ensure compliance with an applicable preliminary nationwide injunction, which may be supplemented, modified, or vacated, depending on the course of ongoing litigation, the Federal Government will take no action to implement or enforce the COVID-19 vaccination requirement pursuant to Executive Order 14043 on Requiring Coronavirus Disease 2019 Vaccination for Federal Employees. Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience:For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service or equivalent in other public or private sectors, that is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
-experience managing and providing technical advice for a comprehensive safety, environmental hygiene and occupational health program.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-13 you must have been at the GS-12level for 52 weeks.
