Duties

Help

  • Develops long-range plans, goals, objectives and performance measures to ensure that OIG/Lead IG initiatives related to designated overseas contingency operations are effectively integrated and unified and that the management infrastructure in country fully supports program execution. Provides expert level advice to ODIG OCO and OIG leadership on OCO program operations as it relates to the Lead IG.
  • Responsible for analysis and evaluation of program operations in multiple OCO locations; performs or leads program analyses and reviews to evaluate progress toward established goals and objectives and to evaluate progress against performance measures; analyzes trends, problems, and deficiencies and develops and implements short and long-term solutions, preventive measures and corrective actions.
  • Provides oversight and instruction to OIG/Lead IG teams, coordinating schedules, tracking projects, and serving as an on-site liaison between ODIG OCO headquarters and OCO locations; makes on-site decisions when needed on urgent operational problems, interpreting and ensuring adherence to OIG policies and standards.
  • Establishes and maintains a liaison role with officials of DoD, other Federal agencies, on-site military command and civilian officials and representatives of other governments as needed for management and support of OIG/Lead IG activities; represents ODIG OCO and the OIG in coordinating operations.
  • Supervises day-to-day activity of assigned staff when serving as a team leader; plans and assigns work and establishes work priorities; administers leave policies and programs in affirmative action and equal employment opportunity; counsels employees on performance and administrative issues; interviews candidates for positions and recommends or takes personnel

Specialized Experience for AD-13:

You must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the equivalent of GS-12 grade level defined as: The ability to develop qualitative and or quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of program effectiveness, or the identification of needed improvements of complex management processes and systems. Demonstrated skill in working out solutions to problems or questions related to the work, writing clear and concise products, and delivering written and/or verbal presentations to senior level audiences for decision-making purposes; and quickly assimilating disparate data, rendering knowledgeable and accurate assessments of the implication of such data, and making decisions, estimates, and recommendations under conditions of urgency and pressure.

Specialized Experience for AD-14:
You must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the equivalent of GS-13 grade level defined as: The ability to serve as a project technical expert and conduct qualitative and or quantitative evaluations of the effectiveness and efficiency of highly complex programs to improve the overall effectiveness, or the identification of needed improvements of complex management processes and systems. Independently or with a team, performs complex program reviews to accomplish project objectives while researching applicable laws, directives, regulations, prior studies and reports to ensure program compliance.

Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education is not substitutable for specialized experience for this grade level.
