Duties

Help
  • You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
  • You will communicate performance expectations, foster and reward excellent performance, adhere to merit system principles, and provide employee development.
  • You will develop and maintain an IT workforce with the appropriate mix of business knowledge, technical skills and competencies.
  • You will hear and resolve complaints from employees, referring group grievances and more serious unresolved complaints to a higher-level supervisor or manager.
  • You will develop strategies, procedures and long-term plans to minimize system vulnerabilities.
  • You will be the subject matter expert for the architecture, planning, implementation, and support for Office 365 and Hybrid-Office 365 implementations, Active Directory, Azure AD, and Active Directory Synchronization.
  • You will implement, manage, and troubleshoot a vSphere infrastructure using best practices to provide a powerful, flexible, and secure foundation for business agility that can accelerate the transformation to cloud computing.

  • Assignments will require employee to have access to classified material. Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Failure to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance may result in removal.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 752/801 level II within 12 months of appointment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • Participate in a continuous learning program. A minimum of 40 hours of Cyber IT/CSWF related continuous learning annually documented in a current individual development plan signed by both the employee and supervisor.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Developing innovative approaches to resolving unprecedented information technology (IT) issues; managing IT investments across the investment lifecycle; defining IT project milestones and deliverables; evaluating proposals for the acquisition of IT products or services; and interpreting IT policies governing the planning and delivery of IT services for an agency. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. Examples of qualifying experience may include providing recommendations for IT program formulation, planning, deployment, and execution of technology; conducting studies to evaluate the effectiveness of IT solutions, developing and evaluating requirements for new or modified IT hardware and software; isolating and defining unprecedented conditions, resolving critical problems, and supporting the integration of new technologies.

BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field (highly desirable).
5 years of cumulative experience as an Enterprise and/or Solution Architect (highly desirable).
10 years of cumulative experience in IT Operations (highly desirable).
Certifications VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, and Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert (highly desirable).

Work may require travel away from the normal duty station to attend conferences or work related information symposiums on a non-regular basis.
