Summary

As a Supervisory IT Program Manager, you will serve as the Director of the Infrastructure Integration Division within GSA IT's Office of Digital Infrastructure Technologies.

Location of Position: Office of Digital Infrastructure Technologies. This is a Virtual/Remote position. Duty location will be determined upon selection.

The Office of Digital Infrastructure Technologies implements, operates, maintains and supports GSA's IT infrastructure, systems, software and applications. Our IT customers are supported through the GSA IT Service Desk. Additionally we provide on-site staff and quality support throughout GSA.

As a Supervisory IT Program Manager you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Provide leadership and oversight of government and contractor performance
  • Integrate IT service delivery of digital infrastructure technologies.
  • Build/integrate enhancements into an organizational system’s reliability and scalability.
  • Manage change, risk, integration and deployment activities.
  • Oversee pilots, sandbox and lab initiatives, minimum viable products, and implementation of work associated with multi-year IT initiatives.
  • Evaluates business system and service configuration properly interface with GSA IT policies and governance activities.

If selected, you must meet the following conditions:

  • Receive authorization from OPM on any job offer you receive, if you are or were (within the last 5 years) a political Schedule A, Schedule C or Non-Career SES employee in the Executive Branch.

The GS-15 salary range starts at $131,178.00 per year.

If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.

To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level or higher in the Federal service.

Applicants applying for the GS-15 grade level must meet the following requirements: Have IT-related experience demonstrating EACH of the four competencies AND one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service as described below:

IT SPECIALIST COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Attention to Detail - This skill is generally demonstrated by assignments where the applicant keeps abreast of latest technology, information, research, etc., to maintain knowledge in field of expertise (for example, reads trade journals, participates in professional/technical associations, maintains credentials).
  • Customer Service - skill is generally demonstrated by assignments where the applicant promotes or develops and maintains good working relationships with key individuals or groups.
  • Oral Communication - This skill is generally demonstrated by assignments where the applicant serves on panels, committees, or task forces as a representative for the organization on technical or professional issues.
  • Problem Solving - This skill is generally demonstrated by assignments where the applicant monitors current trends or events (for example, technological, economic, political, social, educational, or employment trends or events) and applies the information as appropriate.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Specialized experience is defined as experience managing, and overseeing operations for Information Technology (IT) and professional services. Must demonstrate the following:

  • Managing technical risk and architecture of enterprise changes being released and serves as a change control board leader to understand the impact of releases.
  • Supervising site reliability engineering functions.
  • Using automation and software tools to build/integrate enhancements into an organizational system’s reliability and scalability.
  • Managing cloud migration, facilitating infrastructure automation and orchestration, and transitioning solutions to operations support for hybrid cloud hosted infrastructure and applications.
