Duties

Help
  • The duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Performs a variety of clerical tasks such as validating and processing documents which pertain to the Program's work, assembling information, gathering current data, etc.
  • Uses multiple web-based systems to provide support, input information and record data related to financial tracking and personnel functions.
  • Utilizes government issued purchase card and acquisition systems according to procedures and policies to obtain services and supplies, and process vendor invoices.
  • Interacts with vendors to assure procurement transactions are complete and payment activities are executed in a timely manner.
  • Establishes and maintain good working relationships with vendors to ensure prompt settlement and resolution of debt.
  • Coordinates and schedules repairs with the landlord, vendors and technical staff.
  • Provides financial information and related data necessary for maintaining timely and accurate inventory of equipment and instruments.
  • Performs other various administrative duties to include time and attendance timekeeper and coordinator of interpretive services.
  • Performs other related duties, backup support, and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.

TIME-IN-GRADE: Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirement of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled.

FOR THE GS-07 LEVEL: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-06 level) that may have been obtained in the private or public (local, county, state, Federal) sectors which demonstrates:

  • Experience utilizing Federal procurement system plus the USDA Purchase Card Guidance.
  • Experience with Federal acquisition (IAS) and invoicing (IPP) systems.
  • Experience engaging vendors in problem resolution.
  • Experience managing financial data and tracking information related to procurement.
Note: There is no education substitution for this grade level.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
