You will be a subject matter expert in established processes or product lines and serves as a consultant to the fleet, other activities, or within the house and is a reliable source of information.
You will work on modifications to the system, process or equipment involved to update or incorporate new demands.
You may review work of others on specific problems, projects, programs, and functions.
You may review test plans, test results analysis, quality assurance plans, failure analysis, test and evaluation plans.
You may be in charge for the specialty or be a Test Director for a specific test of phase of testing.
You will be responsible for system requirements and design, development and maintenance of Torpedo system applications.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

This is a bargaining unit position.
This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 421 level Intermediate within 12 months of appointment.
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional computer scientist designing, developing, and maintaining web application using software such as Microsoft.Net development stack, MS SQL Server and JavaScript to troubleshoot or recommend system enhancements for improved efficiency of undersea systems and sub-systems.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
Education
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
