  • Duties include (but are not limited to):
    • Prepares statistical data for review and analysis and recommends budget changes as required.
    • Prepares invoices and other fiscal items for payment. Verifies amounts with original obligation documents. Notes, clarifies, and corrects discrepancies.
    • Participates with supervisor or budget analyst in the preparation of budget activities and estimates.
    • Maintains and reviews financial documents, verifying accuracy, approving expenditures.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation

Qualifications

GS-06: To be eligible at the GS-06 level, you must meet the following criteria as defined below:

Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in Federal service that involved performing a variety of procedural and technical duties related to the formulation and execution of the budget and financial management activities. Examples of specialized experience includes preparing budget estimates, gathering statistical data needed for financial reporting, reviewing the accuracy of budget and program data, monitoring obligations and expenditures, entering data into a financial system, producing reports and compiling budget requests.

GS-7: To be eligible at the GS-07 level, you must meet the following criteria as defined below:

Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in Federal service that involved performing a variety of complex procedural and technical duties related to the formulation and execution of the district budget and financial management activities and performs analysis of financial data to determine trends in obligations Examples of specialized experience include performing procedural and technical duties related to the formulation and execution of a budget. Financial management activities. Performs analysis of financial data to determine trends in obligations and expenditures, identifies actual or potential problem areas, classifies errors and takes corrective action to balance errors, recommends budget changes as required, creates and maintains financial management records, establishes and maintains control over funding allocations; and collects, compiles and consolidates data to support budget activities.

Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. If your agency has notified you in writing that you are a displaced employee eligible for ICTAP consideration, you may receive selection priority if: 1) this vacancy is within your ICTAP eligibility; 2) you apply under the instructions in the announcement; and 3) you are found well-qualified for this vacancy. To be well-qualified, you must satisfy all qualification requirements for the vacant position and receive a score of 85 or better on established ranking criteria.
