Help
  • Duties listed are at the full performance GS-7.
  • Serves as a primary purchase cardholder and enters purchase requisitions into appropriate automated systems.
  • Maintains a detailed knowledge of travel policies and regulations in order to serve as a technical resource to unit personnel.
  • Establishes, maintains, and revises the office filing system in accordance with established file codes and record retention guidelines.
  • Reviews all formal outgoing correspondence for proper format, grammar, punctuation, etc., in accordance with Agency correspondence guidelines.
  • Develops and implements new systems or administrative processes to meet unit needs.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the eligibility and qualifications requirements as defined below by the closing date of the announcement. For more information on the qualifications for this position, visit the Office of Personnel Management's General Schedule Qualification Standards.

Specialized Experience Requirement:

For the GS-06: You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as performing two or more of the following duties: Provided support and assistance processing a wide variety of requisitions; Reconciled purchases and maintained files in accordance with Federal regulations and agency directives; Established and maintained the unit's files, accountable property inventories, records, etc. (hardcopy and/or electronic format); and/or Used automated software to produces reports, correspondence, and other written documents in draft form.
OR

one full year (18 semester hours) of successfully completed graduate level education if the coursework is directly related to the work of the position (Business, Management, Finance, Government);
OR
combinations of graduate level education that is directly related to the position and specialized experience. The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university.

For the GS-07: You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as performing two or more of the following duties: Read and kept apprised of organizational and Agency-wide directives and procedures in order to be aware of changes and new requirements affecting the work of the organization; Processed travel vouchers, submitted documents for signature, approval, and payment, and scheduled travel accommodations; and/or Used word processing software and printing equipment to create, copy, edit, store, retrieve, and print a variety of standardized documents.
OR
one full year (18 semester/27 quarter hours) of successfully completed graduate level coursework that is directly related to the work of the position (Business, Management, Finance, Government);
OR
combinations of graduate level education that is directly related to the position and specialized experience. The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
