In this position, you will serve as an Administrative Assistant in the Office of the Deputy Staff Director for Management and Administration, Administrative Services Division, Property and Supply Services Branch. The Administrative Services Division is responsible for providing all necessary administrative and office services throughout the various organization segments of the Federal Election Commission.
This is a bargaining unit position.
Summary
In this position, you will serve as an Administrative Assistant in the Office of the Deputy Staff Director for Management and Administration, Administrative Services Division, Property and Supply Services Branch. The Administrative Services Division is responsible for providing all necessary administrative and office services throughout the various organization segments of the Federal Election Commission.
You must be able to pass a background investigation.
Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service (see Legal and regulatory guidance below).
You may be required to serve a 2 year probationary period.
Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
You must meet eligibility and qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade).
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
One full year of specialized experience providing administrative support to an office or organization. This must include activities such as: (1) processing or maintaining records/documents related to supply, property inventory, and/or procurement; (2) using judgment to interpret and adapt guidelines to specific cases or problems; (3) plan, coordinate, or advise employees of the organization on administrative efforts; and (4) using software systems and equipment to perform administrative duties. This experience must be comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-6 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in private or public sectors).
In addition, you must provide a cover letter describing your experience with the competencies identified below:
Supply, Property Inventory, and Procurement Policies and Procedures - Knowledge of related Federal statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures affecting supply, property inventory, and acquisition processes. Applies knowledge of support principles, practices, policies, and processes to ensure effective and efficient administrative operations.
Reasoning - Identifies rules, principles, or relationships that explain facts, data, or other information; analyzes information and makes correct inferences or draws accurate conclusions.
Customer Service - Anticipates and meets the needs of both internal and external customers. Delivers high-quality products and services; is committed to continuous improvement. Provides advice and guidance to customers based on departmental policies and procedures. Coordinates the assessment, planning, and resolution of administrative requests and requirements.
Software, Systems, & Equipment - Working knowledge of and ability to effectively and efficiently perform work tasks using a variety of software, systems, and equipment used for administrative duties such as mail, supply & property inventory, procurement/acquisitions, facilities, document reproduction, and office automation.
