Duties

Help

  • Provide supervision and direction for the Branch by performing the full range of supervisory responsibilities.
  • Analyze and determine methods to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of AISB operations.
  • Provide advice, counsel, and technical direction to employees on both work and administrative matters.
  • Articulate and communicate to the AISB staff assignments, problems to be solved, milestones, and/or program issues under review and deadlines for completion.
  • Manage the Branch fiscal budget, approve software and hardware purchases, and oversee their inventory.
  • Manage and direct the technical planning, systems analysis and design, programming, user training, implementation, and maintenance of information reporting systems.
  • Coordinate and lead the Security Assessment and Authorization process for required applications.
  • Coordinate and conduct systems analysis to define issues and problems, plans, and conduct feasibility studies, and develop highly complex programming specifications in order to implement new systems.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for an IT Specialist GS-2210 position, you must meet the following:
A. IT related experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training that demonstrates you possess each of the following four competencies:
1. Attention to Detail - is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail;
2. Customer Service - works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services;
3. Oral Communication - expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately;
4. Problem Solving - identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations;
AND
B. In addition to meeting the (A) above, you must have at least 1 year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of IT tasks: planning, developing, and implementing information technology systems and applications; conducting systems analysis of requirements and capabilities; evaluating, installing, and testing systems and applications; and coordinating and collaborating with other staff or organizations on IT programs, services, and systems analysis and implementation activities.
