Duties

Help
  • As an Investigative Analyst, GS-1805-13, your typical work assignments may include the following:
  • Provides the full range of statistical analysis and reporting on the programs of the Whistleblower Reprisal Investigations directorate.
  • Provides standardized and ad hoc statistical reports, using spreadsheets, pivot tables, and other functions, for internal and external audiences.
  • Manages database quality control and routine checks of data completeness and accuracy.
  • Generates graphics, dashboard and views of program statistics to guide personnel in the accomplishment of business processes and functions.
  • Identifies and tests requirements in the development of functionalities of the CRM-based case management system.
  • Assesses system capabilities, recommends system changes for improvements, coordinates system needs and changes with other business units, the Program Management Office, and the vendor.
  • Trains and supports directorate personnel in the use of the case management system and develops and delivers training and writes user guides.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Position has been designated as Non-critical Sensitive. Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service (see http://www.sss.gov) .
  • Incumbent is required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment and is subject to random drug testing for the duration of service with DoD OIG.
  • Current DoD civilian employees are not required to submit to drug testing if moving from one Testing Designated Position (TDP) to another with no break in service, unless deemed appropriate on a case-by-case basis.
  • The incumbent must adhere to the DoD Standards of Conduct.
  • Relocation allowance WILL NOT be authorized.
  • All qualifications and time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Specialized Experience and Minimum Qualifications requirement as noted below.

For entry at the GS-13 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or equivalent or higher grade, in the Federal Service.

Specialized Experience:
Qualified applicants must possess one (1) year, fifty-two weeks, of specialized experience that is equivalent to the GS-12 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is demonstrated work experience related to compiling and analyzing data derived from case management systems or other sources, statistical reports for internal and external stakeholders; providing technical support to users of the case management system, including developing and delivering training, user guides, and customized dashboards; identifying data entry errors and ensuring they are corrected; developing user stories and testing functionality in the development and maintenance of a CRM-based case management system.

You must meet the minimum qualification requirements as stated in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Operating Manual, Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions: http://www.opm.gov/qualifications/Standards/group-stds/gs-prof.asp.

Paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social) is qualifying.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience.

Qualification and time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

Education

There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experienceat this grade level.
