Summary

Positions available at GS-11 and GS-12 in Office of Analytics and Improvements (OAI). The GS-11 is developmental position leading to the full performance of GS-12. Closer supervision and technical guidance and/or on-the-job training provided. Duties gradually broadened until the selectee performs all duties of full performance level. At the GS-12, the selectee provides assistance to study analysis and visual communication and contributes to development of data systems & software.

Duties

Help
  • Translates complex concepts, findings, and limitations into concise, plain language. Closely ties findings and conclusions into the agency mission, original problem statement, and team objectives.
  • Conducts observational analyses using software and/or programming languages such as of Excel, SQL, and Enterprise Data Catalog platforms to explore/group data, test hypotheses, predict outcomes, and inform decisions.
  • Assists in the design and execution of data analysis projects to include predictive modeling and/or machine learning.
  • Research and designs presentations and interpretations of analytical outputs tailored to specific audiences including the use of interactivity and narrative storytelling where appropriate.

To qualify at the GS-11 level, you must have one of the following:
  • At least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-9, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled which has equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience must include:
  1. Experience participating on a data governance or data management team to collect and draft business and technical requirements, prepare and present findings,
  2. AND communicate complex concepts in visualizations and presentations using one or more of the following data governance and BI tools to share data: Collibra, Informatica, PowerBI, Tableau.
.; OR
  • A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR have completed 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
OR
  • A combination of graduate level education and specialized experience that together meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position

To qualify for the GS-12 position, applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-11 level, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience must include:
  1. Experience leading or facilitating a data governance or data management working group to collect and draft business and technical requirements, prepare and present findings,
  2. AND communicate complex concepts in visualizations and presentations using one or more of the following data governance and BI tools to share data: Collibra, Informatica, PowerBI, Tableau.
