Summary

This position is located at the J2 Intelligence and Security Office, Camp Mabry, Austin, TX. The purpose of this position is to serve as the Director of Intelligence and Security. Has overall responsibility for all phases of the work of the organization and planning, directing, and administering the Texas Army National Guard Intelligence and Security Programs. Supervises positions engaged in substantive Intelligence Security work.

Duties

Help

As a Intelligence Officer (Title 5) with the Texas National Guard, your duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Oversees all the Texas Army National Guard's Intelligence and Security activities, based on Texas force structure, equipment, and missions, which include the following Intelligence programs and General Intelligence Security functional areas: Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), Information Security (INFOSEC), Intelligence Oversight (IO), Foreign Disclosure, and Communication Security (COMSEC) that includes Department of the Army Cryptological Access Program (DACAP).
  • Exercises supervisory responsibilities for military and civilian personnel assigned to the Texas Intelligence and Security Office.
  • Gives advice, counsel, or instruction to subordinates on both general policy and administrative matters.
  • Supports equal employment opportunity and labor-management relations' programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Appointment Factor(s): This is a Title 5 Excepted Service position.

Remarks:
  • Must have a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance prior to position assignment.
  • Must attend the ARNG Security Manager Course within 12 months of hire.
  • Must obtain the Security Professional Certification(s) within 24 months of hire.
  • May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.
  • This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
  • The Texas National Guard is an Equal Opportunity employer.

Qualifications

To be considered for qualification, your resume must include relevant experience with beginning and ending dates of employment/experience reflecting the following:

Specialized Experience:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized Intelligence Officer experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal Service or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service, or equivalent private sector which includes: Experience supervising, planning, organizing and directing the activities of an Intelligence and Security Office. Experience in management, oversite, and standardization of intelligence and security requirements and expectations. Experience ensuring the overall mission readiness and compliance with National Security requirements. Experience planning, organizing and directing intelligence and security work which requires significant, analysis, interpretations, judgment, and evaluation. Experience resolving conflicts in interpretation of policy, law, guidelines. Experience developing and recommending policy, organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of intelligence operations. Experience in administrative, investigative, or technical work which required dealing effectively with others. Experience collecting, evaluating and organizing pertinent facts and to analyze and prepare clear and concise reports. Experience leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. Experience managing the function of the work to be performed.
