Duties

Help
  • Provide large and small group psycho-educational training.
  • Provide clinical therapy services to individuals, families, and children.
  • Provide command consultation on all aspects of the behavioral health programs available to command members, individual fitness for duty, and overall unit resilience factors.
  • Ensure all individual patient medical records prepared by counseling staff are maintained in accordance with established standards and regulations.
  • Develop behavioral health programs within the command.
  • Complete administrative duties to include those required to maintain professional credentials, chart maintenance, individual clinical supervision, and chart review.
  • Establish enterprise Behavioral Health programs, to include Prevention/Psycho-Educational Training to meet requirements applicable to the Command's environment.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, employee must successfully pass a urinalysis screening prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • This position is Subject to short notice recall.
  • This position is subject to situations where the incumbent will be called in to handle cases occurring during weekends, holidays and/or after duty hours.
  • May requires extensive travel, CONUS and OCONUS, on very short notice 25% or less of the time.
  • Incumbent must be a licensed clinical social worker.
  • Incumbent must satisfy credentialing requirements IAW AR 40-48 and applicable standards published by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Basic Requirement for Social Worker

Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing psychological and social work clinical principles, theories, and methods to provide clinical therapy services to individuals, families, and children, including assessment and treatment of emotional and behavioral problems; providing Prevention/Psycho-Educational Training on all aspects of the behavioral health programs available; and providing consultation on clinical issues that have the potential to impact mission requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
