Duties

Major Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing, monitoring and sustaining new and existing programs and their administrative functioning.
  • Participating and collaborating in staff meetings, committees and conference calls as assigned staying apprised of current discussions and policies relevant to service functions.
  • Coordinating all administrative aspects for the Service, which includes: timekeeping, travel, preparation of personnel action forms, liaison with human resources, preparation of reports, managing schedules, assistance with correspondence, maintenance of manuals, brochures, and information.
  • Maintaining all associated documentation in support of Primary Care programs in accordance with local policy, ensuring appropriate levels of privacy and access.
  • Assisting and serving as a back up to the Program Analyst with ADPAC functions which include Vista/CPRS computer programs and initial core programs.
  • Organizing and preparing clinical and access data for presentation to the Primary Care Leadership Team, Medical Directors, Clinic Managers, VISN and VACO suspense actions items and other leadership in a clear, concise, and logical manner.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary. There may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of items such as papers, books and manuals. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement, 09/23/2022.

You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade, GS-05, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative techniques for analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of administrative and technical programs; Knowledge of administrative procedures, computer keyboarding, Microsoft Office products to include MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge, and skill, in VHA Support Service Center (VSSC), VHA Reports and Measures Portal (RAMP) to be able monitor and track information using a variety of database programs and sources and analyze pertinent information for tracking and reporting; Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision; Possess sound decision-making skills and use independent judgment with the focus being on the mission of the VA and Primary Care Service; Knowledge of Service and Medical Center policies and VHA regulations regarding human resources actions, budget management, VA Time and Attendance, and VA correspondence.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Proficiency Requirements - In addition to meeting Specialized Experience the following is required: Typing Proficiency: 40 words per minute typing speed. Applicants may meet this requirement by presenting a certificate of proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates or by self-certifying their proficiency.

Education

There is no educational substitution for the GS-06 level.
