(cont'd from Summary) and Cryptographic Systems Specialists, as well as civil service employees in the following series: GG-132, GS- 301, GS-346, GS-391, GS-1670, and GS-1712.

Duties:

Develops educational curricula for advanced technical/operations training. Recruits, assesses, and screens candidates for training. Conducts classroom, laboratory, and field instruction. Recruits, assesses, and, in conjunction with the commander, selects candidates for advance force operations qualification training. Prepares EQUAL PLUS advertisement requests and special duty applications. Screens all applications for accuracy. Schedules and conducts assessments and coordinates with parent MAJCOM for assignment availability and actions.

Plans, schedules, and coordinates training. Plans, schedules, and coordinates on and off-station training with various government agencies, joint services, and commercial entities to meet all course requirements. Requests and coordinates airlift and ranges, loads required equipment, and plans detailed concept of operations for all training events. Plans, develops, and coordinates 24 STS involvement in directed exercises.

Produces automated graphics products and serves as a subject matter expert and instructor in the realm of automated production. Develops and promulgates requirements for data collection in accordance with the commander's operational intent and regulatory guidance. Analyzes, classifies, and applies data derived from the operational activity of numerous organizations. Applies a thorough knowledge of concepts, principles, and techniques of land surveying, computer automated systems, and a practical knowledge of the physical sciences to analyze and resolve unusual problems.

Evaluates students on their ability to execute missions. Evaluates students on the learned skills taught in various courses. Counsels students regarding training requirements and maintains training records. Conducts personal inspections and supervises students during academic classroom and field phases of the course. Administers written and performance examinations. Assigns grades and conducts critiques in accordance with prescribed criteria.

Performs en route and terminal ATC services and world-wide site surveys. Performs world-wide site surveys to assess assault zones for landing, airdrop, and helicopter operations. Selects potential assault zones and conducts thorough inspections to ensure surface conditions and surrounding airspace meet

Qualifications

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED:

  • The work may require the employee to conduct freefall and/or static line parachuting, perform underwater operations, utilize alternate insertion/extraction methods, handle weapons/explosives, and drive motor vehicles and/or water craft in support of diverse mission, training, exercise, test, and maintenance requirements. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required for the position and the employee must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a FAA Class III flight physical if the commander so requires
  • Employee performs other duties as assigned
  • This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety
  • Must have current qualifications and certifications as a UMT IAW USN DMT/SOFTECH-Navy Dive Manual 7 A version 9
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, GS-1712 series.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge and experience in the Combat Control and Special Tactics Officer Career fields. Knowledge and skill in advanced force protection, missing, planning, command and control, close target reconnaissance, surveillance, small unit tactics, advanced communications, personnel recovery operations, military intelligence integration and employment, fire support using various aircraft, munition weaponry, air traffic control operations and assault zones and austere conditions. Knowledge and skill in Instructional Systems Development (ISD), Special Tactics training requirements.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in­-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Knowledge of, and skill in, Special Tactics operations, procedures, techniques, technology, tactics, systems, equipment, and methods to provide instructional design and materials development for assigned training and to serve as an operational baseline.

2. Knowledge of training aids and devices used in training programs as well as mission equipment. Knowledge of test and measurement principles, techniques, and objectives.

3. Knowledge of safety/security program and operational risk management responsibilities, ability to instruct in hazardous environments and conditions.

4. Skill in professional air traffic control.

5. Ability to accomplish complex automated computer aided design and graphic representation of three-dimensional physical environments, to include both horizontal/vertical engineering and area surveying. Skill in accomplishing special training studies and projects.

6. Skill to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
