Serves as a Data Scientist in the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) under Headquarters, Operations Directorate (O), Operations and Business Data Intelligence Division (OBD), reporting directly to the Division Chief.
Directs, plans, and conducts research and analytical studies of Agency data challenges to support critical business and audit processes and decisions.
Establishes study objectives, defines requirements, metrics, measures of effectiveness, and expected outcomes. Identifies and develops innovative and effective approaches and methodologies.
Educates the organization on developed methods, models, and tools to drive organizational buy-in. Renders expert judgement concerning the credibility, responsiveness to directives and objectives.
Plans, directs, and coordinates projects for future and projected data initiatives supporting the audit field, operations, and Agency.
Serves as a consultant and technical advisor to senior subject matter specialists and DCAA officials responsible for decision support operations
Leads teams consisting of Defense Contract Audit Institute (DCAI) course developers and course managers to improve and create courses that ensure new and revised data analytic techniques are integrated into DCAI training.

Basic Requirement: Education
A. Degree: in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.

B. A combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
Specialized Experience:
In addition to meeting the basic requirement you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-13 or equivalent level. Specialized experience must be documented in your resume.Specialized experience includes: Directing, planning, and conducting research and analytical studies of Agency data challenges to support critical business and audit processes and decisions. Using a high degree of judgment, resourcefulness, and originality to gauge and proactively react to the impact of changing technology. Combining, analyzing, and interpreting large and complex data sets to develop data-driven organizational solutions.
