Duties

Help
  • You will operate straight-in-line fuel trucks with GVWs up to 64,500 pounds to transport fuel on the installation and over public highways.
  • You will inform the supervisor, immediately of accidents or damages to equipment or vehicle and of any observed unsafe practices or procedures.
  • You will communicate with the supervisor or the shift dispatcher, using two-way radios or other devices, in accordance with established procedures.
  • You will prior to refueling the aircraft, verify the fuel is the correct grade and amount; recirculate fuel within the truck's tank and pull required fuel sample.
  • You will comply with safety procedures checklist and ensure proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn.
  • You will prior to defueling the aircraft, observe the aircraft's ground crew pulling the required fuel sample to fill the approved container and hand carry the sample to fuels laboratory.
  • You will operate the truck's auxiliary pumping system to dispense fuel and verify the fuel is the correct grade and amount.
  • You will perform all required fuels test and analyze test results to determine suitability for intended purpose.
  • You will perform daily operator maintenance and conduct daily inspection on the assigned vehicle to identify loose parts, worn tires, etc.

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Must successfully complete Medical Surveillance Program evaluations related to this position.
  • May be required to travel by air or other mode of transportation to attend required training or conferences.
  • Must complete mandatory training requirements for this position.
  • The worker may be required to work overtime.
  • This position requires a rotating seven-day-a-week, two-shifts-per-day schedule and may be required to rotate on all shifts. This position requires rotating shift work.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card with travel and purchase authority.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: Performing daily operator maintenance (e.g., check fluid levels, hoses and belts, tire pressure, etc.) and conducts daily inspection on the assigned vehicle to identify loose parts, worn tires, etc. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
