Duties

Help

As a/an PIPEFITTER, you will:

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance, repairs, new installations, troubleshoots and adjusts natural gas, pneumatic and hydraulic control systems on process machinery throughout the building; includes annealing gas furnaces, gas controlled atmospheric generators, Spaleck, Die Shop, Presses Room and Numismatic equipment.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair sanitary sewer and vent systems, storm drainage, domestic water, lawn irrigation systems, automatic fire protection system, pipe insulation, drain cleaning, low voltage electrical, flue pipes.
  • Instruct employees in the operation of new building and process machinery and equipment. Perform the full range of tasks associated with the journeyman level pipefitter such as: Plan and lay out work using building plans, blueprints and sketches to determine the routing, placement, pitch, elevation, pressure reduction, expansion and operation of piping systems and equipment.
  • Participate in Reliability Centered Maintenance program improvements by providing subject matter expertise on areas of responsibility and evaluates the effectiveness of planned/preventive maintenance work orders.

  • Shiftwork: This facility operates on a 24 hour per day, three-shift basis, 5 days a week. Work schedules may vary and assignment to a specific shift cannot be guaranteed. The successful applicant must be available to work on all three shifts on a rotational basis.
  • May be required to wear safety clothing and/or equipment required by the position. This may include safety shoes, hard hats, hearing protection, gloves, masks, etc.
  • Pass a pre-employment physical examination.
  • Must pass a color vision test.
  • In order to work in the field of Pipefitter, you must possess a license or certification.
