Brief Description of Duties: The CYP Motor Vehicle Driver performs various tasks or a sequence of tasks in driving vehicles on a regular and non-regular basis to various destinations as required to provide transportation services or other required movement of children in support of the overall CYP mission. Incumbent is responsible for checking vehicle to make sure all patrons have removed their personal belongings. Preforms pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle. Keeps trips records and/or logs, showing time of departure, trip mileage, gasoline and oil consumptions, etc. Incumbent will drive vehicles over pre-determined routes, arriving and departing at scheduled times. Enforces conduct and safety rules. Responds to emergency and non-emergency situations. Ensures passenger safety. Maintains supervision and accountability of all children at all times while working alone or while working as a team with CYP employees, volunteers, and/or contractors.
You must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent Unit

Qualifications
Understanding safety rules and regulations and other posted rules for moving vehicles. Knowledge of height, width, length and weight of vehicles in order to judge overhead and side clearances, turning radius, braking distance and the safe distance to be maintained from preceding vehicles. Skill in the handling the controls for starting, stopping, backing, and driving the vehicle in a safe manner. Ability to accurately complete written reports and/or forms. Must be 18 years of age and a high school graduate or equivalent. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, and possess strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to favorably pass a pre-employment physical, provide evidence of immunization and be free from communicable disease. Ability to satisfactorily complete all background checks to include National Agency check.
