Duties

Help

Directs the development and documentation of intelligence concepts and strategies for advanced qualitative and quantitative analytical principles, concepts, and methods for use with very complex data sets related to cyberspace operations.

Serves as Senior Intelligence Officer (SIO) in the 867 COG. The SIO is an expert in cryptologic operations, policy and procedures; the National Intelligence Community (NIC), cryptologic enterprise, Joint, DoD structure, organizations and mission/functions, inter-relationships, and operations.

Provides subject matter Expert oversight to the group's policy and procedure development supporting Cyber National Mission Force operations and civilian workforce development. Develops overarching guidance for all Group work centers to follow.

As Senior Technical and Policy Advisor to Air Force Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML), data analytics, data governance, and data science training, formulates and disseminates technical standards and policy guidance for AF analytic development to fully leverage state-of the art data analytics development tools and techniques.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

This is a GG-15 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-15 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-15 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Directs the development and documentation of intelligence concepts and strategies for advanced qualitative and quantitative analytical principles, concepts, and methods for use with very complex data sets related to cyberspace operations. Serves as Senior Intelligence Officer (SIO) in the 867 COG. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

  1. Knowledge of a comprehensive range of intelligence, research, and collection methods for the development of new hypotheses, theories, and threat assessments from multi-source intelligence and available information systems.
  2. Knowledge of advanced qualitative and quantitative analytical principles, concepts, and methods to produce detail analyses of complex information/situations attained from multiple intelligence sources to conduct unbiased complex research of novel and emergent problems, identifying appropriate available systems/data sources, and producing collection requirement assessments in a problem-centric approach linked to operational requirements.
  3. Knowledge and experience with joint military Operations in the Information Environment (OIE) focused on activities, and pertaining to the sequence of actions that use information to affect behavior by informing audiences, influencing external relevant factors, and affecting information, information networks, and information systems.
  4. Knowledge of the of the national intelligence community, cryptologic enterprise, Joint, DoD structure, organizations and mission/functions, inter-relationships, and operations; direct knowledge and experience in technical and all source analysis.
  5. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective relationships, negotiating complex issues, and resolving conflicts at an inter-service, inter-agency, inter-departmental, and international level based on mature judgment, experience, and recognized professional standing.
  6. Ability to foresee the impact of changing technology and in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to identify, investigate, and resolve complex issues or problems; ability to develop innovative approaches and technical analysis processes to tackle emerging intelligence problems by applying skills gained through professional experience working within information operations, intelligence/surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), electronic warfare, available information, and the offensive and defensive cyber fields.
  7. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization. In addition, knowledge of civilian personnel management, safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures establishing organizational priorities and strategic direction, determining resource allocation, identifying programs or infrastructures that are required to achieve goals within a domain of interest; and produce authoritative reports, position papers, and briefings.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
